Joining a Trade Show? Here’s What You Should Bring

Joining a trade show is a great way to not only sell your jewelry but also to gain experience when it comes to customer service and marketing. This is where the brightest minds in jewelry business gather to share what they know about the industry. You’re also going to meet a lot of potential wholesale jewelry suppliers or customers so you have to remember to always put your best foot forward during the whole event.

If you’ve already signed up for a jewelry trade show, you have just to make sure that you have done all the necessary preparation before you jumped into this very important event. Prepare for the show at least two to three weeks ahead of the schedule so you won’t forget to bring anything important to the trade show.

Here’s a quick list of what you should prepare for trade show.

Jewelry Display

  • Inventory – Bring as much inventory as you can but give priority to those that you might think will appeal to your target market.
  • Racks, Props and Back drop – decide on how you can efficiently display all your inventory and bring all the necessary materials that can help you build an interesting display.
  • Lights, batteries or extension cords – some fashion jewelry will look prettier under high quality lighting.
  • Signage – creative message board or signage can help bring in more customers to your booth so don’t forget to pack this one too.

Sales and Marketing

  • Sign up sheets – this is a great way to keep track of your customers and connect with them after the trade show. Create a simple sign up sheet where they can put their name, contact number and email address if they want to receive a newsletter or any updates.
  • Packaging materials – don’t just settle for a simple brown bag when packing your items. Try to come up with a creative packaging and use it to promote your store. Include you logo, contact number and store address to make your packaging more useful.
  • Business Cards – make sure to have plenty of this when going to trade shows so you can give it away to those who want to make business with you in the future.
  • Receipts or sales book – handing out a receipt after a purchase can make your store look professional and will also help you to track sales better.
  • Cash Box or Cash aprons – keep your money secured and protect it against thieves and other bad elements
These are some of the things on our list, but there are many others such as pens, scissors, change, and credit payment system that you must bring to a trade show. Make sure that you all that you need so you can have a stress free and fun-filled tradeshow.
