Different Necklace Displays for Different Materials

As a jewelry store owner, you would know how important a display case is for the jewelry you are trying to sell.  Having the right jewelry display has a huge role for the store to entice a customer to buy a product, and in some cases, dramatically increase its sales.  This is why it is important to constantly update the display section of the store with necklace display cases that can attract passers-by and make them think lots of times before moving past your store, or better, actually “hypnotize” them to get in.

When deciding on what kind of necklace display cases to use , of course, the first thing to consider is the kind of necklace that you would be placing on it.  The kind of material is important because it will help in highlighting the beauty of craftsmanship of the item.  It will also help in protecting the piece from getting scratches even when it is exposed to the elements.  This is why most display cases or busts that are used to showcases necklaces have a felt covering. This material’s solid color acts as the background and helps bring out the great features of the jewelry’s design, as well as protect the piece from getting unnecessarily scratched. For those necklaces that cost thousands (or even millions), this is an important factor as the value of the jewelry might go down when it is has scratches all over it. And if the wrong material is used, delicate jewelry pieces will most definitely get scratched.

Acrylic Necklace Display

Plastic or acrylic cases are all right to use to display pieces that are made of plastic or metal.  It will not scratch the material but will still help in showing it off.  Most of the fancy jewelry is usually placed in necklace display or bracelet display cases made of this material. The issue with plastic or acrylic cases though, is that they may not look as sophisticated as displays covered in felt. It is in this factor that you would need to be extra cautious. Jewelry, no matter how affordable it is, should never look cheap or inexpensive. The design of a plastic case may go too shiny that any jewelry piece placed on it, no matter how expensive it might look. The same goes for acrylic.

There is also the temptation to go natural by using wooden necklace displays. While you would definitely achieve a more organic look with using this kind of display, it could also go wrong in terms of sophistication and practicality. One, you have to make sure the surface of the displays do not have splinters or cracks that may scratch any piece placed on it. Moreover, the all-too-natural feel of the display may make the jewelry pieces rather plain and unsophisticated.

But whatever material for necklace display you use, what is important is that the jewelry is protected at all times.  More than the aesthetics a display made of a certain material brings, what is primarily important is how it can protect your pieces and not add possible damage to them.
