How to Take Care of Your Engagement Ring

So you’re now engaged! After the frenzy has finally died down and congratulations or best wishes fade away, it’s nice to look at the photographs, the greetings and of course the engagement ring that you’re now wearing on your fingers.

We all know how easy thrilled you are with the sparkles around your finger and perhaps flashes of your special day already crosses your mind more than necessary. But as days go by and excitement mellows down, the engagement ring will become less significant and the challenge of keeping it clean and bright will be upon you. To make sure that the sparkles of your ring last until you finally say I do, there are some things you can do to take care of your engagement ring.

Wear your ring based on your lifestyle

When we shop for our ring, we should go for the ones that can fit our active lifestyle. Of course we go running every morning, do the laundry, and even take some gardening from time to time. That is why we ought to know if our wholesale jewelry can stand being worn all day without interrupting your daily schedule.

But as much as jewelers try to assure us that the jewelry our fiancés got us can be worn most part of the day, it is still important to understand that, when engaged in some strenuous activity, it is best to keep the ring on its box. Take off your ring before dipping in a swimming pool or watching a baseball event or going out partying with friends.

Handle your ring with care

No matter what you do, keep in mind that a beautiful ring is sitting on your ring finger and that it demands your care and attention the most. The moment you start to forget that you’re wearing your engagement ring will be start of its demise. So handle your ring with care and avoid rough handling your jewelry.

Aside from that, make sure that you’re wearing the ring that exactly fits your finger. If your fiancé picked a ring that is too large for your finger, have it resized as soon as possible before wearing it. This will decrease the possibility of your ring slipping from your finger and need to look everywhere for your lost ring.

Wearing an engagement ring is just the start of it all. Soon you’ll be wearing your wedding band and if you learn how to develop a habit that can keep your jewelry from fading away, you can be assured that your rings will last as long as your life with your partner.
