Having a jewelry store is serious business. It is not every day that you can hit the
jackpot with your store’s sales as there will be days and periods of time that
people would rather spend their money on something else. This is the reason why you would have to
create and stir the interest of the people for them just to get into your store
and hopefully convince them to buy even a really affordable pair or earrings or
a simple ring that does not cost an arm and a leg. You can start with conceptualizing a visual
necklace
display area which people can easily browse through.
There are a lot of ideas on how to go about creating
attractive displays.
It really depends
on how you want it to go.
You can go for
a simple design which a lot of people also appreciate.
However, there are stunning designs that can
really get the interest of the shoppers which you can play upon. If you are
only selling high end jewelry then you can highlight the brands but if you have
a mix of fashion jewelry then you can incorporate this easily into the
design of your necklace display area.
Highlight the brands
It is easy to pique the
interest of shoppers when you highlight known brands in your window.
Shoppers who are brand conscious are easily
swayed to visit a particular store when they see the names of these brands
emblazoned in your
wooden earring display stand. Though it can be deemed as materialistic and
taking advantage of this rather artificial culture of brand consciousness, it
cannot be denied that branded and signature products are a big crowd draw. The
case of jewelry is no exception. Give the generic jewelry their own place, but
make sure you make lots of room for the branded ones and put them somewhere
with high traffic.
Have several options of payments
This is one
surefire way to get more customers.
If
you can be quite flexible with your payment terms, then you make it easy for
your customers to be able to purchase the jewelry that they want. Of course,
you can set conditions on how to go about this to make it clear to the
customer. Lay-away plans may sound so 1980s, but they did work in the past, so
it should still work up to now. Get in touch with credit card companies as well
to see if you can arrange 0% interest plans for best-selling items so that more
buyers will be interested to purchase through credit.
Offer something affordable
If there are pieces
that have gone out of style, you can probably lower down the price.
The low cost would certainly entice the
customer into buying the piece and you can eventually dispose of the item.
Be more flexible in your pricing of last season (or last
year’s items) so that they could be easily sold, instead of writing them off as
lost expense. Also, prepare to give away discounts in particular parts of the
year when jewelry is a popular thing to buy, particularly in February (for
Valentine’s), June (for weddings), and December (for Christmas).
